In Greek mythology, Helen, daughter of the supreme god Zeus, is said to have been the spark that ignited the Trojan War because of her beauty.
However, the story written by the playwright Euripides hides another "truth."
The Helen who was taken to Troy and exposed to the flames of war was actually nothing more than an "empty shadow (eidolon)" made of clouds. The real Helen was taken to a sanctuary in Egypt and carefully protected, unharmed in the process .
When the long war ended and her husband Menelaus was reunited with her, she had not lost any of her former vibrant vitality, even after all these years. This unchanging appearance across time proved that she was an "immortal being" with divine blood.
